Head of the Charles

Sasha Kramer ’12, Emily Garvin ’11, Laura Darby McNally ’80, Molly Fales ’04, and Jane Farrell ’07

On October 22, 2011 Middlesex School hosted its first Alumni Village reception at the annual Head of the Charles River Regatta.   This popular regatta is the largest 2-day rowing event in the world, and many Middlesex alumni, family and friends had the opportunity to enjoy it with fellow rowers and supporters.

Although we did not have any Middlesex boats in the water this year, there was a lot of Middlesex representation out on the Charles:

Paul Slye ‘80               Wesleyan Alumni

Wendy Svatek ‘88      Coach, BBN Girls Youth 4+

Molly Fales ‘04          Dartmouth Alumni 8

Maddie Berky ‘06      Williams Alumni

Jane Farrell ‘07           Club 4+

Leigh Carroll ‘08         Brown Men’s Heavy

Anna Garbier ‘08        Stanford Light 8+ - Won SILVER

Jane McClellan ‘08     Williams Collegiate 8 – Won GOLD

Griffin Duffy ‘09        Boston University Champion 8’s

Because of this event’s popularity, we are considering hosting this reception on both the Saturday and Sunday of next year’s Head of the Charles Regatta.  Additionally, there’s some talk about some MX alumni boats in 2012.  Stay tuned!
